Weather You Like It or Not

Background

Weather is driven by air pressure. Weather occur mostly in troposphere. Weather systems can be affected by the altitude and latitude of topographies on earth. Latitude is measured away from the equator from 0o to 90o N or S. Higher altitudes are cooler than lower altitudes due to differences in compressional heating. Because the Earth's axis is tilted, sunlight is incident at different angles at different times of the year. Surface temperature differences in turn cause pressure differences. Weather forecasting is the application of science and technology to predict the state of the atmosphere for a future time and a given location. There is evidence that human activities such as agriculture and industry have modified or been modified by weather patterns.
